 On November 9, 1998 A-1 Direct Casket Sales, Inc. opened as Tuscaloosa County's first wholesale casket and funeral outlet store.
The company was founded in August of 1998 by Charles, Donald, and Ricky Sherrod. The idea to open the store was studied by the brothers for several months and today A-1 Direct Casket Sales, Inc. Funeral and Cremation Advisory Center is a reality.
Like many, the A-1 Direct Casket Sales, Inc. founders have experienced the high cost of a funeral. They realize that today average funeral costs range between $6000 - $10,000. This is Too Much!
Since opening A-1 Direct Casket Sales, Inc. has helped thousands of families save thousand's of dollars.
As of August 24, 2009 we became a licensed funeral home (Northport Funeral & Cremation Service). We still offer the same low prices for funeral merchandise. We now can offer quality funeral/cremation services at a low price. We have three licensed funeral directors/embalmers on staff and four licensed funeral directors on staff.
